The Series We Need and Deserve

Here at Badder Sports, we pride ourselves on seeking deals and finding opportunities where we can leverage and go against the grain to pick winners from the depths of despair. However, I must admit, we didn't anticipate that the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks would end up in the World Series. Considering their performance leading into the League Championship Series, the Philadelphia Phillies were on fire and seemed unstoppable offensively. Similarly, the Astros had a stacked lineup that seemed to be relentlessly defeating opponents.

Yet, here we are, and I believe it's beneficial for baseball and everyone around the world. The Texas Rangers acquired Jacob DeGrom from the New York Mets in the offseason, signing him as a free agent. Then, at the trade deadline, they decided it wasn't enough to have one injured pitcher from the New York Mets, so they traded for the esteemed Max Scherzer.

Many people argue that it wasn't wise to give up those players. I disagree. I appreciate that the Mets received some excellent prospects. Truthfully, Max doesn't seem very reliable in the playoffs. However, the Texas Rangers don't seem to mind because even when Max was pitching in Game 7, the Texas Rangers offense stepped in and dominated. The Rangers offense is simply outstanding.

For the Arizona Diamondbacks, their strategy of releasing underperforming players rather than trading them away seems to be effective. And honestly, who wanted to trade for Madison Baumgartner? They're a young and fast team, and they're genuinely fun to watch. At any given moment, a player can step up and deliver for the team, whether it's a stolen base, clever base running, or a home run. They always seem to be in the right places at the right time. Winning Game 6 and 7 in Philadelphia, in front of that crowd, is absolutely astonishing.

Often, we anticipate a World Series and assume it's the same one we've expected since the beginning of the year. The truth is, this is probably the World Series that we need right now. These teams are very different from what we've seen in the past few years, primarily because they aren't the Dodgers or the Astros. This will indeed be a World Series that we not only need but also deserve.
